DIY Ticket Stub Journal

I've never been much of a collector, except when it came to sentimental things; birthday cards, old notes, photo booth pictures, and ticket stubs. Even as a kid, I would save my ticket stubs from the movies in a drawer in my desk. As I got older, I continued to keep my tickets from concerts, sports games, shows, amusement parks, traveling, etc, but they weren't doing any good sitting in my desk drawer. Since the nights that you spend at these events are sometimes the best and most memorable of your life, I decided those ticket stubs deserved a better home. The idea of a ticket stub journal is not mine, but when I decided to make one of my own, I thought documenting the process might give someone else the encouragement to give their old ticket stubs a better home too.
MATERIALS:
Photo album
Alphabet stickers
Scrapbook paper
Scissors
Ticket stubs
Ruler (if necessary)
First, remove the photo insert that came with the photo album, but don't throw it away! Place the insert on a portion of the scrapbook paper that you would like to be seen in the front window of the photo album. Craft stores usually have entire isles dedicated to scapbook paper, so choose any pattern you like! I chose this map pattern because a lot of my ticket stubs are memories from my travels. Trace the shape of the insert on the paper, and cut it out.

The next step is to give your book a name. I chose "Ticket Stub Jounal" but "Ticket Stub Diary" is also a good choice. Choose any type of letters that you like, just make sure that when you are finished spelling out the title, they will still fit inthe window slot. Just slip it in the window, and the cover is done!
Here comes the fun part - putting in your ticket stubs! I chose the type of photo album that had spaces on the side for memo writing, so I could write who was with me, if anything special happened, what vacation it was, etc. To avoid the ticket stubs sliding around, you may also want to apply a small piece of tape to the back before you insert them in the album.
Once you've put in all the stubs you have, you're done! This project is so fast and simple, and your ticket stubs have a forever home! One of the best parts is that you are always able to add to it.
Now it's time to grab those old ticket stubs and make one of your own!
Somewhere under a palm tree,
Danielle
